The Gulf of Naples prepares for the regattas

The crystal-clear waters of the Gulf of Naples will become the main stage for the 2027 America's Cup. Infrastructure preparation work is already underway at the port, with the goal of creating a state-of-the-art Race Village capable of hosting teams, media, and millions of fans.

Race course characteristics

The race course has been designed to make the most of the Gulf's conditions:

  • Reliable thermal wind in the afternoon hours, ideal for AC75 regattas
  • Excellent visibility from the shore and public areas along the waterfront
  • Adequate depths for maneuvering the 24-meter yachts
  • Short distances from shore to guarantee a close-up spectacle for the public

Port construction works

The Naples Port Authority has approved the expansion of the southern pier, which will house the bases of all participating teams. Total investments exceed 150 million euros from both public and private sources.

Environmental sustainability

The event will be held in compliance with the strictest environmental regulations. Planned measures include:

  • Continuous water quality monitoring
  • Use of renewable energy for team bases
  • Certified waste management plan
  • CO2 emission offsetting

The Gulf of Naples thus confirms itself as a destination of excellence for international sailing.
